Great effort yesterday! Lovely to see some rainbows from the drawing challenge. If you didn’t send us yours, you can comment on the school Facebook rainbow post with your picture later today. Today’s challenge is to draw someone or people you love (or really like)- could be friends, family, someone famous etc.

Creative Art
Have a go at creative some natural art! To mix things up, the pencils and crayons to one side and look for natural art instead. Collect fallen leaves/petals/sticks and then use them to make a picture or sculpture. Please make sure you don’t pick flowers however. If not, why not use objects and tools from around your house? Have a look at the photo below for inspiration!

Monday 11th May

Morning Year 6 🙂!
 
As SATs week arrives it’s not quite the same, 
The tests that were printed for you never came,
The displays are still up; walls full of Maths ‘rules’,
But Year 6 is very different, at present, in schools,
 
For some of you, happiness, lots of relief,
For others a sigh of pure disbelief,
That you worked so hard in advance of this week,
Expected and greater depth marks you did seek,
 
Algebra, fractions, the times table drills,
Inference, retrieval, in-depth reading skills,
You discussed and learnt SPAG with your peers,
You have practiced and mastered them over the years,
 
So here at Devonshire Road you have made us so proud! 
We sit here with pride and we shout this out loud…
“Year 6 you AMAZE us, you’ve come incredibly far…
and we don’t need the test to see how incredible YOU are!
