For Healthy Living Week, we have made some super healthy choices! We followed instructions to make a cheese and spring onion wrap, a yoghurt with strawberry mash, and some freshly squeezed orange juice. Here are some pictures…
This afternoon we have been tasting different types of milk as part of our science topic. First we discussed where milk comes from and then we spoke about what happens next. We tasted skimmed milk, semi-skimmed milk, and whole milk. The children were all very enthusiastic to taste the different types and they were surprised at how different they all tasted. We did a vote on which milk was our favourite;
skimmed milk – 7
semi-skimmed milk – 4
whole milk – 18
Last week, as part of our English topic about non-fiction text, Year One decided to make some pizza’s. We really enjoyed making the pizza’s but the best bit was definitely eating them! The next day we did some non-fiction writing about what ingredients were used and the step by step guide on how to make them.
The vocabulary for this week is;
Independent – doing something by yourself.
Dazzling – shiny or sparkling.
Petite – small or little.
WOW! What an amazing turn out for our very first Stay and Learn in Year 1.
I don’t know about you, but I had a great time. The children absolutely loved having their adults turn up and learn about all the fun and exciting games and activities we play in Phonics.
Thank you so much for attending and for your continuous support 🙂
